Collaborations between designers have been well received for several years now. Ladies line up for the release of luxury items at affordable prices. This year’s couplings have been particularly alluring. Here are my favorite capsule collections you should be aware of.
Jennifer Fisher x J Crew
Since designing her first piece of jewelry almost 10 years ago (a dog tag necklace for the birth of her son), Fisher has become the jewelry designer for in-the-know women, not to mention a CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalist. Now, she’s designed a collection of 10-karat gold charms just for J Crew that can be mixed and matched to create a one-of-a-kind necklace.
Alexander Wang x H&M
On November 6 this year, it is time to sharpen your elbows and put your game face on, as the Alexander Wang x H&M Collection will hit and you won’t want to miss this. The go to designer for “it-girl” cool has created a capsule collection with the oh so affordable H&M. “Alexander Wang is one of the most important voices in fashion today. He understands exactly what people want to wear and does it with an energy and passion that’s infectious. It feels incredible to be collaborating with him this year.” says H&M.
Alexander follows in the footsteps of Isabel Marant, Maison Martin Margiela, Karl Lagerfeld and Matthew Williamson, who have all designed for H&M.
Jil Sander x Uniqlo
We’ve all said to ourselves at some point ‘if only I’d bought that [insert item here] when I had the chance’. Well, if you said that about Jil Sander’s hugely popular collaboration with Uniqlo then your wishes have been granted. Pieces reissued include the signature down jackets and parkas, the classic men’s button-down shirt and wool items including jumpers and outerwear. Full of perfect wardrobe staples, it’s suggested you make the most of this second chance and snap up some affordable Sander magic while you can.
